North Texas Job Corps Partnership



The Collin County Black Chamber of Commerce and the North Texas Job Corps recently signed an agreement to provide youth job opportunities.

 

The North Texas Job Corps is engaged in the field of vocational and academic training for young adults. It's the desire is to establish cooperative partnership memorandum of understanding with companies to establish work base learning sites for students.

CCBCC is the direct link to today's affluent and progressive African American business professionals in the state of Texas. Its goal is to build economic prosperity and quality of life in Collin County. The chamber believes that a sense of community is an essential need for growth and development. CCBCC will address the needs of the community by supporting initiatives aligned with our mission relating to youth empowerment and the advancement of minority professionals in Collin County.

 

 

Terri Thomas, CCBCC Board Member and Cari Montgomery, NTJCC work-based learning coordinator, serve as coordinators. “We believe that the alliance is a win - win for everyone. This enables students to obtain necessary job experience & technical skills for acquiring and maintaining gainful employment upon graduation,” says Ms. Thomas.
